Justin Bieber Plays Soccer, Selena Gomez Cheers Him On

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 01:15 PM PDT

Earlier today we saw photos from the morning after Justin Bieber‘s sleep over with girlfriend Selena Gomez but right now we get to see new, more innocent photos of the young lovebirds. As they continue to holiday in Canada together, the Biebs participated in a friendly soccer match with friends and the ever faithful Selena was on hand to be his biggest cheerleader. After the game, the couple made their way to a local eatery for a bit to eat … and some kissing. Check out the photos of these crazy kids below.

Yeah, I’m thinkin’ that Justin needs to work on his facial expressions while playing soccer … he looks like he’s in pain, not like he’s having fun. Nonetheless, Selena was happy to be his biggest supporter in the crowd:

All that was missing was the pom-pons. My guess is that Bieber‘s team won cuz Justena was in the mood to celebrate with some food and some smoochin’:

It’s unclear just how far the celebrating went beyond this dinner date but … well … let’s just assume the kids hugged and then went home to play video games. Justin and Selena‘s romantic Canadian adventure continues this weekend. I wonder what they’ll get up to next.

Brooklyn Beckham Puts The Moves On A Young Girl

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 01:01 PM PDT

Brooklyn Joseph Beckham, the eldest child of David and Victoria Beckham, was lookin’ all nice and cozy with a female friend at the LA Galaxy soccer match at the Home Depot Center last night. Brooklyn and his ladyfriend appeared to make the most of their time together — laughing, playing, hugging. Clearly, the lad is already becoming quite the ladykilling charmer ;)

Man, kids are going up really fast these days aren’t they? Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are already having sleep overs … and even little kids like Kingston James McGregor Rossdale are already putting the moves on the ladies. Now that Brooklyn is getting into the Mack Daddy game, can his little brothers be far behind? Man … kids these days.

KidneyThieves Rock The Roxy

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 12:50 PM PDT

I after falling in LOVE with X-Men: First Class yesterday evening, I made my way out to The Roxy on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA to see KidneyThieves in concert. Back in my goth/industrial phase, I was a big fan of the band’s debut album Trickster. Their song Feathers is still one of my all-time fave songs from my club days. I had never seen the band live before so, last night was my first chance to do so.

All in all the show was pretty good … but I did learn that I am not the same person that I was back in 1998. While I still love all that industrial dance/goth pop music, I think I’m far too old for the scene anymore. All the kids were still wearing fishnetting, electrical tape and pleather clothing … which made me feel totally out of place. Yes, I used to rock that same stuff in my youth but I don’t any longer. I think it’s awesome that the scene is still going strong and a new generation of industrial goths are flourishing. As for the show, KidneyThieves put on a great concert … but I was totally bummed out that they didn’t play Feathers ;( The show was kinda short but I honestly didn’t mind. They didn’t take the stage until 11pm and my old ass didn’t need to be out at all hours of the night ;) ‘Twas a fun show, I’m glad I went.

Tonight, David and I are planning to head downtown to help our dear friend Eileen celebrate her birthday today! That should be a blast. Happy Saturday.

Movie Review: ‘X-Men: First Class’

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 11:44 AM PDT

David and I went to an early evening showing of X-Men: First Class, which opened in theaters yesterday, and for the most part we really looking forward to a great movie. What we got was an even better movie than either of us anticipated. Before yesterday, Thor was my fave superhero movie of the moment … but X-Men: First Class has absolutely become not only my fave superhero film of the year but probably my fave movie of the year (thus far) period. It’s really that good.

To be honest, I can’t even decide what makes the movie so good … the acting or the writing. X-Men: First Class is full of fantastic actors who truly become the roles they are playing. Never once did I think anyone was phoning it in or being disingenuous (not even January Jones who, as the chilly Emma Frost, may come off as lifeless but, IMHO, adds to the stoic character). Without question, the chemistry between James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender is SUPERB! There was so much emotion going back and forth between those two (as Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr) that I have expected them to hug and/or kiss in almost every scene. Kevin Bacon, as the villainous Sebastian Shaw, was a real surprise. I’ve known that he can play evil very well … and that talent really shows well in this film. As for the writing, I mean, damn … they did a great job bringing the origins of the X-Men to life. Tying in actual historical events with comic book fiction is genius! Did you know the entire Cuban Missile Crisis was brought about by interference by rogue mutants? Well, in the 1960′s world of X-Men: First Class … they did! I was also very impressed with the origin stories of some of the X-Men. My only complaint is that I wish they had explained Raven Darkholme/Mystique‘s origins better than her just showing up one day. There are a couple of really fun cameos (that could be easily spoiled, so don’t go looking for them online if you want to be surprised). My biggest complaint about the film was the FX … some of the scenes looked really cheap. My guess is that the studio didn’t give the film a massive budget and corners had to be cut. Still, the acting and storytelling more than made up for the film’s shortcomings. I honestly loved everything about this film. As soon as it was over, I wanted to watch it all over again. Hands down, X-Men: First Class is the best X-Men movie ever made. It really has a good shot at being the best superhero film of the year. From start to finish, First Class is a fun ride. I really love, love, loved this movie.

Racy/Artsy Photos Of Evan Rachel Wood Hit The Internets

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 11:05 AM PDT

Back in April, actress Evan Rachel Wood opened up about her romantic relationship with ex-boyfriend Marilyn Manson revealing that she lived “50 lifetimes” during her 4 year relationship with MM. Among those 50 lifetimes was, apparently, a stint as a topless model … ‘cuz new photos of ERW (and her bare breasts) taken by MM have made their way to the Internets.

THIS site has a batch of these ERW photos (censored and uncensored) for your viewing pleasure. Because MM fancies himself an artist (in music, painting and photography), I’m not at all surprised that he got ERW to pose for him. She had to know that any risqué photos that she posed for would see the light of day at some point. Considering ERW‘s penchant for nudity, I doubt she’s at all bothered by the release of these photos. I guess it just comes with the territory when one dates Marilyn Manson.

Anderson Cooper Celebrates His Birthday With A New Daytime Talk Show

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 10:50 AM PDT

Hottie CNN anchor Anderson Cooper celebrated his 44th birthday yesterday along with the news that he is getting his own daytime talk show. Considering the fact that Oprah Winfrey just ended her 25 year long talk show, there seems to be a big void that Anderson is lookin’ to fill … tho, he has made it clear that he doesn’t intend to replace the big O. Read on for all the deets about Anderson‘s new daytime gig.

With Oprah Winfrey forsaking her talk show platform, and Katie Couric reportedly gearing up for her own syndicated talk franchise, it’s been easy to overlook the talk-show debut of CNN anchor Anderson Cooper. But Cooper leaked out some new details about the program via Twitter on Thursday. There is now a website, a logo (a tall, skinny letter “A”), a Twitter account (2,711 followers and counting!) and a premiere date–Sept. 12 … “I’m not trying to replace Oprah” who brought the curtain down on her 25-year daytime reign last week “She’s irreplaceable,” he said, later adding: “For some people, the news doesn’t connect with their daily lives, but on daytime television, you can connect with an audience in an emotional way.” The afternoon talk show will be filmed at Manhattan’s Time Warner Center, and will specialize in lighter fare than the breaking news Cooper covers in his capacity as a prime-time host and frequent foreign correspondent for CNN.

Anderson is a BRILLIANT choice for a daytime talk show host … but I don’t think he’ll be able to get the kind of audience that could rival Oprah‘s if he stays on CNN. The majority of daytime TV watchers still stick with the big 3 networks — CBS, NBC and ABC. Still, I think I would be very interested to see what his show is all about. I think a lot of people will tune in out of curiosity to watch Anderson Cooper‘s talk show … it remains to be seen if he can keep people coming back for more. In any event, let’s send our belated Birthday Lurve to Anderson on his 44th … and big congrats on his new TV show.

Is Britney Spears Wearing A New Engagement Ring?

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 09:55 AM PDT

Earlier this week we saw new photos of our dear Britney Spears making her way out of the gym here in SoCal and in the photos, she gave a peek of a ring on her finger that managed to catch everyone’s attention. On Twitter, Britney announced that she would be making a “big announcement” and immediately, the rumor mill jumped to the conclusion that she would be announcing her engagement to boyfriend Jason Trawick. It turns out that not only are Britney and Jason not engaged but the ring isn’t even a new ring at all. Read below for all the real deets about this engagement rumor.

There’s a ring on Ms. Britney Spears’ finger. And yes, it’s that finger. So does that shiny bauble on, to be clear, Spears’ left-hand ring finger mean that the Femme Fatale singer’s’ boyfriend of two years, agent Jason Trawick, has asked her to take things to the next level?! … So false! “Completely not true,” Spears’ rep tells E! News of any engagement rumors sparked by the pop star’s piece of apparently random jewelry. “It’s not an engagement ring, not a story.”

I mean … yeah … she’s been wearing this ring on this finger for years. I still contend that Britney and Jason could be engaged but they may just not be talking about it publicly … so, as far as this rumor goes, there is no engagement. As for that “big announcement” that Britney made, well, that was just about a chance to buy tickets for Britney‘s tour for 50% off. I’m convinced that Britney will get married again … just not quite yet, it would seem.

Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez Have A Sleep Over

Posted: 04 Jun 2011 09:34 AM PDT

Justena watchers should be WELL aware by now that tween dream lovebirds Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have been spending some time together in his hometown in Canada this week but were you aware of the young couple’s sleeping arrangements? I understand that officially, Selena has a swanky hotel room for her visit but it would seem that she has been sleeping over at Justin‘s home as well. It should be noted that Bieber‘s family has been home to supervise the young couple’s sleepovers but, let’s be real … how well can they really keep an eye on these two?

She and boyfriend Justin Bieber are in the first throes of their romance. So perhaps Selena Gomez could be forgiven for forgetting to pack a change of clothes after spending the night at her boyfriend’s house in Canada. The 18-year-old Disney starlet sported the same outfit this morning as last night as she left a residential house in Canada, thought to belong to a relative of Justin’s. Wearing her hair up in a loose ponytail, the star wore the same baggy white and blue striped top, blue jeans and flip flops as she and her 17-year-old boyfriend headed out together.

I should point out that all of this could be ENTIRELY innocent. Just because these youngsters are ungodly rich and can have absolutely anything AT ALL that they want doesn’t necessarily mean that they are, in fact, getting everything they want. It’s very possible that these (basically) kids are keeping things really innocent. Then again, they could be doing it like rabbits. Whatever is really going on, I know their behavior no different than 99% of kids their same age. With a few exceptions, the young love we are witnessing here (on a global scale) is the same sort of thing that teens experience. I think they make a cute couple. So long as they stay out of trubs (if you know what I’m saying), I say Long Live Justena!
